If you have not yet heard of these boutique and online paint sources, you will definitely want to take a look. They may very well make your job of choosing the perfect paint that much easier.
Whether you’re still hiding from Covid, are too busy and not a lot of extra time. Or have gotten so used to online shopping that we may not want to stop. If any of this is the case you might like to take a look at these 4 online paint sources shown below. They carry some fabulous on trend colors and are more targeted in their presentation. Meaning they are not showing you every single shade, tone and tint of a color. Which can be both unnecessary, unnerving and/or time consuming.
Little & Greene Paint
The first online paint source is called Little & Greene. Little & Greene are based in the UK which is where their product is made. They have a wonderful selection of paints and their website is full of information and easily navigated. Categories are broken down into colors and the selection is not so much that it is overwhelming. Their paint is billed as environmentally and kid friendly. You can view online or order a color card sampler and if you are interested in a particular color you can order what they call a “paint sample pot” (4.95 in pound currency). In addition I highly recommend looking at their Colour Inspirations tab for some great ideas.
Clare
The second company is Clare, which was founded by an interior designer named Nicole Gibbons. While working in the interior design field Nicole saw a need to simplify the paint process and consequently has curated a wonderful selection of spot on colors that will not leave you overwhelmed. Her paints are water based, contain zero VOC, are Greenguard certified and odor free. So that sounds pretty good. In addition they will happily send you large 8″ x 8″ swatches with a self adhesive sticky backing so you can easily attach them to the wall to view anywhere you want. I highly recommend taking a look at their blog as it has some great inspiring ideas showcasing many of their paint colors.
Farrow & Ball
Then we have my favorite paint resource, Farrow & Ball, which is also located in the UK. This illustrious paint boutique has been in business since 1946. Mainly specializing in the restoration of heritage properties, by matching historic colors with their unique and artisanal paint collection. The richly pigmented colors of their paint responds uniquely to light in a way that most standard paints do not. Due to their unique mixtures the company did not “go green” until 2010, switching from oil based paints to water based while keeping the creamy texture and performance. If interested you can request a color card, as again they have a targeted limited palette of highly sophisticated colors. You can also purchase paint sample pots to try out. And I would definitely recommend this even though it might cost a bit more.
The Spruce ~ Best Home
And if you are a die hard Amazon shopper then The Spruce ~ Best Home paint will be for you. The Spruce is a popular lifestyle website that listened when their readers expressed the need for a less complicated painting experience. Consequently The Spruce joined up with the popular and well established brand KILZ to bring you a line of paint called Best Home. They tapped into their design expertise and ability to spot trends when creating their curated collection of 32 paint colors. Because as we discussed earlier, having a limited more on target palette of colors that will work well anywhere, truly simplifies the whole painting process. And yes, as I mentioned before, these colors are offered on Amazon, what could be easier. In addition the product is an all in one paint & primer as well as being low VOC, low odor and 100% acrylic.
Hope you found this list helpful. Above all, when decorating do remember that it is not always best to do things as cheaply as possible. Certainly you will have better results from spending a bit extra money and a bit more time.
